A Yellow Belt is someone trained to solve process problems on a more local level. They usually operate in project teams that support Green Belts and Blacks Belts in delivering projects.

The ATIM course Yellow Belt in Lean prepares you for the subsequent Leane exam that leads to the Lean Yellow Belt certification. This certification is provided by ATIM. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions and lasts up to 3 hours. A score of at least 70% is required to pass the test. The exam is administered in Dutch.

Registering for exam

The Yellow Belt training is designed for executives and employees of organizations or government agencies who want to get acquainted with Lean or (soon) will have to deal with Lean in their own organization.

No specific prior education is required for the Lean Yellow belt training.

  • Classroom: €395 (excluding VAT and exam fee).
  • Exam fee Certified Yellow Belt in Lean (CYBL): €225 (excluding VAT and subject to price changes)

Upon receipt of your registration, you will receive a written confirmation and a unique ID number. You will need this ID-CRKBOnumber for each subsequent exam. Please note! You are not officially registered for the exam until payment has been received.

The program

Our training is designed so that in one day the participant will lay the foundation for understanding the Lean enterprise. Some of the essential tools and capabilities of Lean thinking will be covered. After completing the lean yellow belt training, you can take your Lean skills to the next level with the Green Belt Training.

For classroom training, the subject matter is offered in one class day from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. With in-company training, in addition to the 1-day training, you will also receive two half-days of on-the-job supervision. Our lean training prepares you thoroughly for the exam, provides insight into the theory and enables you to apply the theoretical concepts in your own practical situation. During the lean yellow belt training you will learn:

  • Recognize and (thereby) help reduce waste in processes
  • Making minor improvements
  • Supporting others during improvement processes

Lean Yellow Belt, what is that?

A Lean Yellow Belt is a certification level within the Lean process improvement program. It is one of the first levels of certification that can be achieved by professionals who want to learn about and become involved in Lean methodologies and tools.

A Lean Yellow Belt certification indicates that the person has a basic understanding of Lean principles, tools and methods and is able to contribute to Lean projects and initiatives. It indicates that the person understands the fundamental concepts of Lean, such as eliminating waste, maximizing value and improving processes.

A Lean Yellow Belt training course typically covers topics such as Lean principles, value streams, process analysis, problem solving and continuous improvement. The goal is to give professionals the skills and knowledge to support Lean initiatives and contribute to the improvement of processes and productivity within their organizations.

Lean Yellow Belt certification

With a Lean Yellow Belt certification, you have a clear understanding of the purpose of lean and understand your role within projects. Practical certification earns an average of €50,000 per year.
